Gratitude Journal is a free, personal voice-journaling tool. By using it you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose, because the service itself is small and simple.

What this service is

A web application that lets you record short voice entries in English or 中文, transcribe them in your browser, and save them as plain-text files in your own Google Drive. The developer does not host, store, or read your journal entries.

Your account

Sign-in is performed by Google. You bring your own Google account; the app does not create or manage user accounts of its own. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. You can revoke this app's access to your Drive at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Your content

Anything you record and save belongs entirely to you. The app saves journal files to your own Google Drive using a narrow scope (drive.file) that limits it to files this app creates. The developer has no access to those files.

Acceptable use

Use the service for personal journaling and reflection. Do not use it to:

• Attempt to disrupt, attack, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Submit content that is illegal where you live.
• Bypass or abuse Google's API quotas, rate limits, or terms of service.

The service is provided "as is"

The app is offered free of charge, on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that transcription will be accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that data saved to your Drive will always succeed. You should keep your own backups of any content that matters to you (Google's Takeout makes this easy for Drive).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the service.

Changes to the service

The app may change, evolve, or be discontinued at any time without notice. If the service goes away, your journal files in your own Drive remain yours.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "Last updated" date above will change. Because the app keeps no user contact information, we cannot notify you directly.
